Hepatocellular Carcinoma in Hepatitis C-Associated Cirrhotic Patients Treated with Different Combinations of Direct-Acting Antiviral Agents Available in Pakistan: A Prospective Observational Study

چکیده
Background: The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a leading cause of chronic liver disease, including hepatic cirrhosis and hepatocellular cancer (HCC). Drugs that act directly on the virus, like as direct-acting antivirals (DAAs), are associated with improved long-term virologic responses reduced treatment time. Pakistani patients HCV-related receiving DAA medication were studied to see if they had an increased risk carcinoma Material Methods: We conducted prospective observational study at Isra University Hospital Hyderabad from July 2019 August 2020. Three hundred fourteen met inclusion criteria included. recorded baseline demographic characteristics, Child-Pugh class, model for end-stage disease (MELD) score, alpha-fetoprotein level, abdominal ultrasound/computed tomography (CT) scan before after treatment. Results: hundred-fourteen individuals took part in research. average age participant was 46.7 years. Twenty (sixty-nine) participants developing men, while nine (thirty-one percent) women (p=0.221). Five (17.2%) HCC diabetics, seventeen (58.6%) tobacco users (p=0.001). (69%) developed combination sofosbuvir daclatasvir. A sofosbuvir/velpatasvir led development (31%) (p=0.1). diagnosed eight under forty (27.6%), but 21 beyond (72.6%) (p=0.55). found 65.6 percent Child-Turcotte-Pugh class participants. Conclusion: DAAs have been linked higher HCC. Participants combo sofosbuvir/daclatasvir more likely develop than those who received alone. Direct-acting antiviral therapy decreases hepatocellular carcinoma recurrence rate in cirrhotic patients with chronic hepatitis C.
BACKGROUND AND AIMS Arrival of direct-acting antiviral agents against hepatitis C virus with high-sustained virological response rates and very few side effects has drastically changed the management of hepatitis C virus infection. The impact of direct-acting antiviral exposure on hepatocellular carcinoma recurrence after a first remission in patients with advanced fibrosis remains to be clarif...
متن کاملDirect-acting antiviral agents in patients with hepatitis C cirrhosis.
Patients with cirrhosis who are infected with hepatitis C virus (HCV) are the most in need of antiviral treatment. Virologic cure improves fibrosis and quality of life while reducing liver-related morbidity and mortality. In mid-2011, the addition of direct-acting antiviral agents (DAAs)-the protease inhibitors boceprevir (Victrelis, Merck) and telaprevir (Incivek, Vertex)-to pegylated interfer...

We performed a case-series analysis of reactivation of herpesvirus in patients with hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection treated with direct-acting antiviral (DAA) agents. We collected data from 576 patients with HCV infection treated with DAA combinations at 3 hospitals in Spain, from November 2014 through November 2015. We also collected data from a control population (230 HCV-infected patients,...

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is a major cause of chronic liver disease, with approximately 71 million chronically infected individuals worldwide. Clinical care for the patients with HCV-related liver disease has advanced considerably thanks to an enhanced understanding of the pathophysiology of the disease, and because of developments in diagnostic procedures and improvements in therapy an...
متن کاملRisk of Hepatocellular Cancer in HCV Patients Treated With Direct-Acting Antiviral Agents.
BACKGROUND AND AIMS The risk of hepatocellular cancer (HCC) after sustained virological response (SVR) with direct-acting antivirals (DAA) is unclear. Our aim was to examine the risk and determinants of HCC in patients cured with DAA. METHODS We conducted a retrospective cohort study of hepatitis C virus patients who were treated with DAA in any of the 129 Veterans Health Administration hospi...
